Simply put, Tenwek Hospital's needs have outgrown their current facilities. This is especially true in the areas of medical education and surgical operating room space. In order to effectively fulfill its God-given calling, Tenwek needs to provide sufficient facilities to fulfill its mission.

Current Facilities

2 - Minor Procedure Rooms
1 - Doctor's Office with single desk which
doubles as medical library (This room is approximately 10' x 12')
1 - Lecture Room which seats 25 people
0 - Locker rooms (None)
Recovery room doubles as ICU capacity for 7 patients
0 - Pre-op holding unit (None)

Yearly procedures performed
2600 - Major operations
2800 - Minor operations
1200 - Endoscopic procedures

Facilities with the addition of the new building
5 - Operating Rooms
4 - Minor Procedure Rooms
1 - Endoscopy Suite
Locker rooms Male and Female with sufficient space for all staff
Recovery room 8 bed capacity separate from ICU
Pre-op holding unit 5 bed capacity separate from Recovery room and ICU Doctor's offices
1 - Large combined office with desks for ten doctors, and several other smaller offices for medical research and medical education director
2 - Lecture halls seating 25 each
1 - Lecture hall seating 150 (all new lecture facilities to be equipped with AV capability)
1 - Medical library (25' x 25') with facilities for computers, etc.

20 - Bedside ECG monitors @ $1,000 each

Fixed auditorium seating - 150 units - which can be purchased in Kenya for around $100 each (this would save shipping costs)

How you can help

Pray for this project as we look to the Lord to be the master builder and ultimate provider. The need is great, and so is the cost.
