How You Can Help

There are almost an unlimited number of ways that you can help. In fact, the needs at Tenwek change at such a rapid pace that it would be impossible to keep this website up to date. Keep in touch directly with the missionaries and staff at Tenwek to stay abreast of the most recent needs.

HELP BUILD OUR NEW WING

PRAY

The real work of Tenwek is spiritual. Here are some ways you can be praying for Tenwek.

  • Pray for the Holy Spirit to be calling people to come to living faith.
  • Pray for the chaplains, nurse and staff who are sharing the gospel with needy patients and their families that the message of salvation by faith in Christ may be explained clearly and that those in need would accept it.
  • Pray for the projects of Tenwek to be accomplished, like raising the remaining funds for the new surgical wing, and continued development of the new Family Practice Residency at Tenwek.

GIVE

Give to support the projects at Tenwek. Here are some current needs worthy of your gifts.

  • Please help fund the new Medical Education/Surgical Theatre Building. Follow the link to learn more about this important expansion of facilities at Tenwek.
  • The needy patient fund is a essential resource which allows the hospital to care for people in need, thus showing the compassion of Christ and keeping the hospital from making tough decisions about turning away patients or witholding care. Donations to the needy patient fund are deeply appreciated.
  • Give to the Endowment Fund for Professional Staff Salaries.
  • For details about how to make your gift and how to receive appropriate tax-deductible receipts, contact Tenwek's administration at tenwekadmin@tenwek.com

COME SERVE

You can serve at Tenwek in many ways. Some of the most common ways are short-term medical volunteers including two month rotations for 4th year medical students, 1 or 2 month rotations for physicians doing their residencies, and several week to several month service opportunities for practicing physicians. But non-medical skills are needed as well. These include maintenance skills, computer skills, teaching skills, and many more. Contact the visiting staff coordinator to discuss what skills you have and to find out how Tenwek can use you.
